She wants to meet us....

A couple days ago I got a call from Laura at FFC telling us that Maya's birth mother and father and maybe one set of grandparents want to meet us. I am very nervous about this meeting, but so happy that I will be able to look her birthparents in the face and thank them for the gift of their daughter. I hope that I can ask the right questions, and I hope I can give the answers that her birthparents need. How do I even begin to say thank you or help them to understand how grateful I am for them, and for the precious little girl I am blessed to call my own? I have a lot of thinking to do...

How wonderful! I know you will do fine even though you'll be very emotional, I'm sure. I'm excited for you. Randy got to meet Ansley's aunt and enjoyed that. You are only a month away! Yippee. I cannot wait to hear all about it.

Grandma Smith wants you to know how excited we are to have a new granddaughter. As you know, girls are scarce in our family, and we are as thrilled to have little Maya in our family as all of you are. We are anxious to see her. We know that you will say and do all of the right things. You are doing so many wonderful things in preparation, I know you will be blessed. Love, and lots of hugs, from Grandma & Grandpa Smith

It will be such a wonderful gift for Maya. I'm sure that it will be full of emotion and tears. Just ask what's in your heart. Another thing I've heard others do is ask the birthmother/family to write a letter to Maya. So that maybe one day when she is older you will have this for her.

What a blessing, Janalee- I'm sure the birth parents will feel good about this (as good as they can) once they meet you. I'd bring pictures, of the boys, your adventures, your home, friends.. it will be a blessing to both of you! Love Val

P.S. Maybe we'll cross paths in the airport! :)
