Celebrate good times...
We had a great 4th of July. The weather was perfect. We started the day at a pancake breakfast in the park with our church.
Maya enjoyed the parade. She thought she was so big riding her scooter with all the big kids!
This is Jacob (with his brother Jared). He is one of my hero's. He was a great parade leader and led the kids around the park with great enthusiasm. He kept the beat with his drum and sang "America" and "The Star Spangled Banner" the whole time he led the parade. Such a privilege to know this young man.
We ended our evening at a BBQ with family and friends. The boys (minus Tanner and Matthew who were away at scout camp) enjoyed swimming and goofing off and lots of great food. The toddlers were hysterical and kept all of the moms busy as we tried to keep them all in our sights (and sharing with each other) with the pool being right there.
Maya really got into her fudgesicle, and sweet little wild man Brock would spray anyone who dared to try to take the hose away from him!
We went to La Sierra for a big free fireworks show and LOVED it! A new tradition for sure.
Maya was not pleased with the fireworks at all. She was about 10 feet away from me when the first three "big booms" went off, and I think she cleared that ten feet and climbed up my body to get to my arms in about 1.5 seconds flat! She soon felt a bit safer in her daddy's arms, but only with her blanket pulled over her head!
Thanks to the other Smith family, Kanzler family, Christensen family, and the Moser boys
for a great evening!

Looks like Laney and Maya have the same thoughts towards fireworks! Laney would have loved to have a blankie to crawl under! Scared or not, Maya gets even cuter every time I see her!!!!
OH! I miss you guys! Maya is getting so big...It really stinks that you live so far away and I have stupid school so I can't visit as often as I want! when are you all comming out here?!
I miss you guys. I want to come see you. I think I'll buy some lotto tickets so I can win and pay for the gas to come out there. Liv asked me the other day when we could go to Tanner's house. She likes all your boys, but has a thing for T-man. We're planning a big ol' road trip for next year sometime. Let's go camp under ginormaous trees!
Looks like fun to me... I can't wait to see you guys comin' up! Maya looks soooo cute and I really really want to play with her!
We had so much fun spending time with you guys! We had a blast and the company was great! Thank you for sharing the fun with us!
Too fun! I love the picture of Maya in the hottub with Chocolate all over her. Celebrate good times--come on!
Janalee,
wow, I can't believe how old Maya looks these days along with all the kids! I love seeing them grow and change though and maybe next year Maya will be better with fireworks! Jer shocked me this year by being perfectly fine with the big "boom booms" he seemed almost bored..lol...
Nonetheless, I love seeing the children and you guys together and having a blast!!! WE have ALL been through alot together "the old group" and I will never forget how encouraging you were for Jer's adoption Journey thank you for that. Keep sharing your wonderful family please. We love seeing you all!
